Basic Obedience
-
Private lessons or group classes will always be between an hour to two hours depending on setup time, the lesson and homework discussion.
Basic obedience covers loose lead walking, sit, down, come to name, stay on a place mat (or in crate), handling (for vet or grooming), and any specific concerns you have with your dog! If a puppy we will focus on socializing outings for our lessons and always involve neutrality around other dogs, people, kids and other animals.
If client chooses we will learn about tools needed for comfort between dog and handler including prong or e-collar.
Length of training course (number of lessons) will depend on the dog(s) adaptability to picking up on the training AND the client’s confidence/full understanding to support new training with their dog(s) on their own
Follow up sessions after completion of training course will ALWAYS be available whenever client has concerns about training or new issues arise that need refresh training.
-
Private lessons (available 24/7 contact for scheduling)
An hour to hour and a half runs at $45 per private lessons
Two hours or over $50+ depending on needed additional duration
Group Classes (only available with multiple people scheduling, contact for availability)
One dog with client $30 per class
Two dogs with client(s) $50 per class
Advanced Obedience
-
Private lessons or group classes will always be between an hour to two hours depending on setup time, the lesson and homework discussion.
Advanced obedience will continue off of basic obedience. We will cover on and off leash obedience, continuing sit, down, recall, stay on place and adding stand, directionals (forward, right, left, back), and lengthened sit/ down stay around distractions. Loose leash walking will adapt into heel work (walking directly next to your side) including focused heel if needed.
If client chooses we will learn about tools needed for comfort between dog and handler including prong or e-collar for added safety during off leash training/ speed in obedience.

Day Training
-
Day training will go for a minimum of 3 hours to a maximum of 12.
Day training can cover any and all training needed including but not limited to basic/advanced obedience, on/off leash waling and obedience, socialization (going out to stores, parks, vets offices), handling (teaching a hookup for putting on leashes/collars/etc. bathing/nail trims, grooming, body checkups, vet handling, etc.) neutrality/reactivity rehab and any other concerns you may have.
Day training is perfect for people that may work a lot or have time blocks throughout the day that they need help with having their pups out and exercised. From a training perspective day training of 3+ hours have been extremely useful for outings and exercise in new locations (something that is extremely important for dog’s transferring their training to different environments) which is not possible in a private lessons. It also allows for faster bonding time between dog and trainer which transfers (normally) to faster training progress.
At anytime before, during, or after day trainings are scheduled private lessons can be added to training course to involve the owner in all additional progress and updated training.
If client chooses we will learn about tools needed for comfort between dog and handler including prong or e-collar.
Length of training course (number of lessons) will depend on the dog(s) adaptability to picking up on the training AND the client’s confidence/full understanding to support new training with their dog(s) on their own

Day training is a base rate of $20 an hour with a day being a minimum of three hours to maximum of twelve hours (unless boarding for the dog is needed then there are different rates for overnight- contact for more information!)
Day training can be scheduled weekly for a reoccurring day and time each week similar to a weekly daycare day.
Trainer can pickup and drop-off dog at owner’s property or owner can drop off and pickup at discussed meeting point.

About Howl to Heel
HI! My name is Delfin Muller, owner of Howl to Heel LLC, an upcoming dog training business in Harrisonburg Virginia and surrounding areas. As a dog enthusiast myself I have worked towards this goal since I was 13 when I started researching trick training. A year later I started working under an animal nutritionist/ dog massage therapist and went on to meet a local dog trainer. I worked as an apprentice, and kennel attendant and volunteered for local animal shelters for the next 5 years. My dreams came true when I found Highland Canines School for Dog Trainers and got my Master Dog Training Certification through their program.
Now I work as a dog trainer, focusing on teaching my clients how to heal (sound familiar?) their relationships with man’s best friend. I offer puppy-raising programs, basic/advanced obedience, on/off leash walking skills, and behavior modification! Because I believe that every dog needs a job/genetic outlet I plan to offer CGC certification, SAR (search and rescue trailing), detection work (including bed bug scent logix), agility course training and so much more!
P.S Take note of my assistant’s photo; Hoagie! He is a big help in my training sessions offering balanced socializing for my clients who need a trustworthy dog to work around!
